The popular online site, Variety, recently published an article discussing the "urgent demand" in the animation industry, do to the boom in streaming services.
"The rise of streaming services — which are ordering season after season of animated shows for children and adults — has created an urgent demand for original content, leading to a surge in jobs at all levels of production. iAnimate Games instructor, Richard Lico, shows "what its like to animate Quill" the hero from the PlayStation VR game Moss currently being developed. In this video Richard demonstrates a quick look around animation, with the opportunity to see some of the basics behind their Maya tools workflow. He says, "Lots of people have asked me how I go about creating animation for Quill, so I figured a quick glimpse would be a fun behind-the-scenes moment." Richard Lico, one of our many talented Games animation instructor, left Bungie last year to join a start-up crew of former Bungie artist who formed Polyarc. This week at E3, they previewed their first title for the PlayStation's VR headset, Moss. Check out the trailer.
