Interview with industry Veteran Conan Low

In our 65th podcast we interviewed industry veteran and our Pre-Viz instructor, Conan Low. Conan is a 20 year veteran of the film entertainment industry and has worked on a wide range of projects from groundbreaking television, beginning with the pioneering computer generated animated series Reboot to box office movie hits like Madagascar 3 and Rogue One. After working on the first four seasons of Futurama and the first season of Genndy Tartakovsky’s Star Wars: Clone Wars with Rough Draft Studios, Conan joined the CGI pioneers in Northern California at PDI/Dreamworks where he supervised teams in their pre-visualization department. Anytime you can interview someone who is excited about our art form and been in the industry for 20 plus years, you're sure to learn something.

Interview with Pixar animator Frank Abney

In our 62nd podcast we interviewed past iAnimate feature student and current Pixar animator, Frank Abney. In addition to Pixar Animation, Frank has had the opportunity to work for Dreamworks Animation and the Walt Disney Animation Studio. During his time at three of the top studios he has been able to work on such films as Kung Fu Panda 3, Coco, Incredibles 2, Frozen, and most recently Toy Story 4. With a resume like that and Frank's own personal project 'Canvas', this made for a great animation conversation.

Interview with industry veteran - Simon Otto

In our 59th podcast we interview animation veteran, Simon Otto. Simon has been working in the industry for over two decades, and the majority of that time at Dreamworks Animation. He joined the studio in 1997 to work on their first animated film, The Prince of Egypt and most recently finished as the Head of Character Animation on the third installment of the How to Train Your Dragon franchise. Last month, Simon decided to leave the comforts of Dreamworks Animation to pursue personal goals. It was a real unique opportunity  and pleasure to get him in on this interview.

Interview with Veteran Animator Tim Ingersoll

In this episode, we have long time animator Tim Ingersoll. He's been one of feature instructors since we started iAnimate.net and has been in the industry for about 31 years. He's made the transition for 2D to 3D, he started out early on at Walt Disney Animation Studios, as well as at Dreamworks Animation when they first opened their doors. He's worked on such films as The Little Mermaid, Prince of Egypt, How to Train Your Dragon, and Kung Fu Panda 3. Tim also pitched, created, and animated in the short film at DreamWorks, on how DREAMWORKS makes our movies. With Tim's up beat personality and having spent a lot of years in the industry, this made for another fun and informative podcast.

Interview with Ballerina Animation Director and animators

Happy New Year! In our 48th podcast we talk with Ted Ty, India Barnardo, and Martyn Smith. Ted has over 24 years of experience at the feature animation level, has animated on 20 feature films, and has been teaching in our feature animation workshops from day one. After spending two decades at Walt Disney Anmation Studios and Dreamworks Animation, he moved back up to Montreal Canada to become a Animation Director on L'Atelier Animation's first feature Ballerina. What made this podcast so fun and interesting other than catching up with Ted and hearing about his new role, he was joined by iAnimate student India Barnardo and iAnimate alumni Martyn Smith; two of the many iAnimate students he hired for Ballerina.
