iAnimate Games instructor, Richard Lico, shows "what its like to animate Quill" the hero from the PlayStation VR game Moss currently being developed. In this video Richard demonstrates a quick look around animation, with the opportunity to see some of the basics behind their Maya tools workflow. He says, "Lots of people have asked me how I go about creating animation for Quill, so I figured a quick glimpse would be a fun behind-the-scenes moment." Before coming to Blizzard, Kevin animated on Ice Age 3 at Blue Sky Studios, shipped multiple God of War games while at Ready At Dawn, and was a Cinematic Lead on Ready At Dawn's multi-award winning game The Order: 1886. This all added up to some great discussion about animation, VR, and industry advice.

Interview with Animator & Director - Patrick Osborne

In our 45th podcast we interview animator & director Patrick Osborne. Patrick has worked for such companies as Sony Animation and Walt Disney Animation Studios. While at those studios, he's worked on such films as Surfs Up, Tangled, and Wreck-it Ralph. He's probably most known for his work in shorts. He was an Animation Supervisor on Paperman, and directed the much loved short Feast. He's recently released his next short for Google Spotlights, Pearl. This is his first foray in to the realm of VR. It was great to talk about his animation journey as well as working in this medium.

Pre-Visualization Interview with Animator James Bennett

We have returning guest, James Bennett. James has been working in the animation industry for over 15 years and has worked at some of the top studios and blockbuster films during that time. He has worked on such films as Godzilla, The Hobbit, Avatar, King Kong, Tin Tin, How To Train your Dragon 2, & Madagascar 3. James has been teaching in our Creature workshop division helping students achieve the amazing quality found in our recent creature student show reel, but will also now taking on a new workshop here, Pre-Visualization. In this podcast we talk to James about his experience working in pre-viz for films like How To Train Your Dragon 2 and what one can expect from the workshop he'll be teaching.
