Jim's Advanced Body Mechanics class was the first iAnimate class I had taken after switching from another online school and he did not disappoint. Understanding and executing believable body mechanics is critical in your animation education since it is the foundation of any good acting shot. His lectures were clear and easily digestible, while his critiques keep you moving forward without overwhelming you. Jim was a great instructor and couldn't have been a better intro to IAnimate.
Hey Jim! I started last monday at Bardel working as an animator for Dreamworks Dinotrux. Thank you for the support and for being a great teacher! Take care!
I took Workshop 5 with Jim vanderKeyl as I wanted to further improve my skills in animating characters. The workshop help me create a better sense of realism in my animations. Jim was a great instructor that helped me bring out the emotions and story of our shots. Jim taught us many crucial consideration points before starting our assignments. He also provided us with many key tips and tricks of the trade which made the animation process much easier. A lot of planning went into our shots to make sure that the process was as smooth as possible. On top of that, we learned to use many tools that helped me enhance the action in my animations and to have better control over the graph editor. All in all this experience provided me with the skills and knowhow to create my first demo reel to display in my portfolio. I am grateful that not too long after, i found myself working alongside Jim as a full time junior animator, and what an experience! I highly recommend anyone seeking to improve their animations skillset to consider taking this course.
